Izi-Devis writes your quotes (devis) and invoices (factures) to French rules: the right VAT (TVA) on every line, the mandatory mentions, unbroken invoice numbering and the Factur-X format used for French e-invoicing. Dictate or type, and you get a PDF in French, ready to send to your client.

The app is in French, and so are your documents
This page is in English, but the app and the quotes and invoices it produces are in French, to French standards: that is what your clients and the French tax authorities expect. Izi-Devis adds the legal mentions and works out the VAT, so you do not need to know them by heart.
Devis and facture: French rules in brief.
What is a devis in France?
The written quote you give before starting work. Once the client signs it with « bon pour accord », it binds you both. For repair or maintenance work at a private client’s home it is required whatever the amount. It must show:
- Your name, address and SIREN or SIRET number (with « EI » after your name if you trade as a sole trader).
- Your décennale insurance (assurance décennale): insurer and area covered.
- A detailed description of the work, with quantities, unit prices and the VAT rate for each line.
- How long the quote is valid for, and your payment terms.
French invoice requirements
A facture repeats your identity and the client’s, then adds the rules specific to invoices:
- An invoice number in one unbroken sequence: no gaps, no reused numbers.
- The invoice date and the date of the work, plus the client’s name and address.
- Every line with its VAT rate, then the totals before and after VAT (or the 293 B mention, see below), and your intra-community VAT number if you charge VAT.
- Payment terms: the due date, late payment penalties, the fixed €40 recovery fee (owed by business clients only, not private clients) and your early payment discount terms.
- Your décennale insurance, as on the quote.
Micro-entrepreneur? TVA and the 293 B mention.
Many British tradespeople in France work as micro-entrepreneurs (auto-entrepreneurs). Under the « franchise en base » VAT scheme you charge no VAT, and every devis and facture must say so.
- No VAT charged: each quote and invoice carries « TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI ». Choose « Franchise en base » in the settings and Izi-Devis prints it for you.
- 2026 thresholds for services such as building work: past €37,500 of turnover, VAT applies from 1 January of the next year; past €41,250, it applies from the day you cross it. If you also supply the materials, your total turnover must also stay under €85,000 (upper threshold €93,500).
- Charging VAT? Izi-Devis applies the right French rate on each line: 20 %, 10 % or 5.5 %.
E-invoicing in France · 2026-2027 reform
E-invoicing in France? Two dates.
1 September 2026: receive
Every business must be able to receive electronic invoices (suppliers, energy, telecoms). You pick your approved platform (plateforme agréée), often the one your accountant suggests.
1 September 2027: issue
Small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs must also issue electronic invoices to VAT-registered businesses established in France. For private clients and businesses based abroad, only the figures are reported to the tax authorities (e-reporting).
And Izi-Devis?
Izi-Devis invoices can already carry the Factur-X format, the format of French e-invoices. Electronic sending and e-reporting are planned for the September 2027 deadline, at no extra cost on your plan.

Frequently asked questions
What is a devis in France?
A devis is the written quote a French tradesperson gives before starting work: what will be done, at what price, with which VAT rate and under which terms. Once the client signs it with « bon pour accord », it binds you both. For repair or maintenance work at a private client’s home, a devis is required whatever the amount, and also whenever the client asks for one.
Do I need to speak French to use Izi-Devis?
The app is in French, and so are the quotes and invoices you send to your clients in France: that is what they and the French tax authorities expect. Izi-Devis adds the legal mentions and works out the VAT, so you do not have to write them yourself. This page explains the service in English; the rest of the site is in French.
Is there an auto-entrepreneur invoice template?
Izi-Devis does the job of a template, without the usual traps: every invoice is numbered in sequence for you, carries your SIREN, your insurance and the payment mentions, and prints « TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI » when you choose the « Franchise en base » VAT scheme. A signed devis becomes the invoice in one click, so nothing is typed twice.
Do micro-entrepreneurs charge TVA (VAT) in France?
Not while you stay under the « franchise en base » thresholds. In 2026, for services such as building work, VAT applies from 1 January of the next year once your turnover passes €37,500, and from the day you pass €41,250; if you also supply the materials, your total turnover must also stay under €85,000 (upper threshold €93,500). Until then you charge no VAT and every devis and facture must carry « TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI ».
How much does Izi-Devis cost?
The Free plan gives you 5 free quotes for life, with no card needed. The Pro plan costs €35 a month including VAT (or €360 a year), with unlimited quotes and invoices. The first 30 days of Pro are free: a card is requested, nothing is charged in the first month, and you can cancel in one click.
What is changing with e-invoicing in France?
From 1 September 2026, every business must be able to receive electronic invoices, through an approved platform (plateforme agréée). From 1 September 2027, small businesses and micro-entrepreneurs must also issue electronic invoices for their sales to VAT-registered businesses established in France. Sales to private clients and to businesses based abroad are not e-invoiced: their figures are reported to the tax authorities instead (e-reporting). VAT-exempt operations are outside the reform.
